UIC falls to LSU

Morrow Owns Her Hometown, LSU Pushes to 14-0

Back in Chicago, Aneesah Morrow put on a show. The former city standout notched her 86th career double-double — 19 points and 12 boards — as LSU stayed perfect with a 91-73 win over UIC.

UIC came out swinging. The Flames, averaging just four threes a game, lit it up from deep with 11 makes to keep the Tigers on edge.

But LSU’s firepower was too much. Flau’jae Johnson carried her streak with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman star Mikaylah Williams added 17 despite being thrown into point guard duties without practice.

After a sluggish first half, LSU flipped the switch in the third quarter with a 13-2 run that broke the game open. From there, Mulkey’s squad cruised to its 14th straight win heading into the holiday break.

Postgame, Coach Kim Mulkey kept it real: “I know what’s coming after Christmas… and we’re not ready yet. I’ve got to find a point guard.”

Bottom line: LSU handled business on the road, Morrow owned her homecoming, and the Tigers roll into SEC play undefeated — but still searching for answers at the one.
